Trial access to Sage Research Methods – Cases and Datasets
Cases
Sage Research Methods Cases are stories of how real research projects were conducted, written by the researchers themselves. They explain why the researchers chose the methods they did, how they overcame problems in their research and what they might have done differently with hindsight: the realities of research that are missing from journal articles and textbooks.
Cases appear alongside other content on Sage Research Methods on the homepage tiles, or you can browse cases by method, discipline and academic level at https://methods.sagepub.com/cases.
Each case contains:
1. Learning objectives
2. Exercises and discussion questions
3. Links to published articles about the study when available.Datasets
The Datasets collections offer sample datasets and instructional guides for hands-on data analysis practice. They are indexed by method and data type are optimized for classroom use. Datasets appear alongside other content on the Sage Research Methods homepage tiles, or you can browse them by method, discipline and academic level at https://methods.sagepub.com/datasets.1. The Dataset tab will allow you to download the sample data and accompanying instructional guides. Quantitative datasets are available in a number of file formats for use with major statistical software packages.
2. The „Teaching and Learning Material“ tab gives you access to teaching and student guides, as well as how-to guides for specific statistical packages featured in the dataset.
3. Direct link to the Methods Map offers a deeper exploration of the method applied in a dataset.Trial access is available until 11 April 2025.

- How to analyze the results?
FAQ
Why can't I open fulltexts of some articles in the e-resources?
E-resources offer access to fulltexts of only those journals that are included in the collections subscribed by Masaryk University. The other collections in the e-resources are not available for MU in fulltexts and therefore you can obtain only abstracts.
Which database should I start with?
We recommend to start with one of the big multidisciplinary databases – EBSCO, SAGE, ProQuest, Wiley or JSTOR. Just go to the list of e-resouces and choose the right database you need. You can also search in the complete list of all databases – Portal of electronic information resources at MU.
Can I access electronic resources from outside the university?
Yes, it is possible to access e-resources from outside the Masaryk university. More details are given university Portal of electronic information resources.
How do I know if a particular journal is available online?
To find a particular journal by title use EBSCO Discovery Service – List of available Journals and Books. This service enables you to look up a journal/book by title and gives you information on availability of online version of the document – gives you the name of the database in which it is available and the coverage dates. Then you can use the links to get to the fulltexts.
