Summer library hours and migration to a new library system

The library will be closed from June 28 to September 6.
During the summer, you can contact us by email at library@fss.muni.cz.

The loan period for monthly books expires on October 5, 2026. Reference books (marked with a red circle) must be returned by September 18, 2026.

While the library is closed, books can be returned using the drop box located on the ground floor of the building under the staircase. Alternatively, books can be mailed to the library’s address.

E-resources are available 24/7 even during the summer – https://research.ebsco.com, Taylor & Francis Ebooks, and others can be found at https://library.fss.muni.cz/e-resources.
During the summer, MU libraries are transitioning to a new library system
Please note that the current library system will only be available until August 13, 2026. From August 14, it will not be possible to log in to your account, renew loans, or place book requests.

You can search for all printed books and journals, electronic articles, e-books and other online resources via one search in one place – Discovery MU – you can log into your library account to view your current loans, renew them, request books from the stacks, request currently borrowed titles, etc.

Along with the transition to the new library system, a registration application was also launched in the MU Information System. In addition to registration, users can check their obligations here (loans and any late return fines), manage the personal data transferred to the library system, and choose their home library. It is also possible to cancel your registration here.

With the transition to the new system hosted in a cloud environment, the method of personal data processing has changed. Detailed information on how we process personal data can be found at libraries.muni.cz/documents/personal-data-protection.

In early September, you will receive an email with information about the new library system.
