FAQs about E-resources
1. Why can't I open fulltexts of some articles in the e-resources?
E-resources offer access to fulltexts of only those journals that are included in the collections subscribed by Masaryk University. The other collections in the e-resources are not available for MU in fulltexts and therefore you can obtain only abstracts.
2. Which database should I start with?
We recommend to start with one of the big multidisciplinary databases - EBSCO, ProQuest, Wiley or JSTOR.
3. Can I access electronic resources from outside the university?
Yes, it is possible to access e-resources from outside the Masaryk university network using the Virtual Private Network (VPN), Proxy service etc.
More details are given either on our library web or at university Portal of electronic information resources.
4. How do I know if a particular journal is available online?
To find a particular journal by title use EBSCO Discovery Service - List of available Journals and Books. This service enables you to look up a journal/book by title and gives you information on availability of online version of the document – gives you the name of the database in which it is available and the coverage dates. Then you can use the links to get to the fulltexts.
